I'm One, too!
Actually there is a pretty big 'crowd' of us! I was
born in 1951 on a cold and snowy day, (14" of snow!) in Springfield, Mo. Of course, I think SW Missouri is a good place to
be from, but it's also a good area to retire. We are known to have one of the lowest costs of living in the US, so if you
are on a fixed income, it will go a little further here than a lot of places you could live. We are also known for being one
of the friendliest places on earth. Most of us are good neighbors, and even some are still 'Good Samaritans'. No kidding,
some of us have been known to stop and help a stranger stranded on the road! I know that isn't as safe as it used to be when
we were growing up, and doesn't happen nearly as often, largely because of that fact. We have good doctors and hospitals,
in case your old body begins to wear out. Lots of shopping, and of course there's Branson that is 'only a short piece' down
the road from us. Since I mentioned Branson, you have to be reminded of all the great entertainment and wonderful places to
eat down there. There are lots of good lakes for fishing and boating. My husband still enjoys hunting. In fact, he just killed
a nice sized doe the other day. Nothing like fresh venison for the freezer. Once you've eaten fresh fish, that frozen stuff
in the store won't cut it anymore!!
We enjoy the changing of the seasons in our area. It's a more noticeable
change that it is in some other areas of our world. We have gorgeous fall color, lovely blooming springs. We have summers
that can be pretty hot, and winters that include a little snow from time to time. No chance of getting bored. As the saying
goes, 'If you don't like the weather in the Ozarks, wait a minute, it'll change!'
If I haven't convinced you yet that SW Missouri is the place
to retire, you just look around a little more......you'll be back, and we'll welcome you home!
Email me, and I'll send you a list of my favorite places &
